Dresses and Daffodils

March 27, 2015Uncategorized

Hello there!  Today I thought I would share a shoot I did with my good friend Morgan a few days ago.  Enjoy!

LOOK 1

I created this flower crown out of the fresh blooms from my garden!  Many fashion magazines and blogs claim that flower crowns are outdated and shouldn’t be worn, but I say “WHY THE HECK NOT?”  If it makes you look like a botanical princess AND your hair smells nice, it’s a win in my book.  So, you heard it here on my not-so-official fashion blog: the flower crown and anything else that makes you feel beautiful and confident is still very much in as long as you want them to be.

FLOWER CROWN DIY

White will always be a go-to for spring dresses.  Subtle touches of embroidery add interest to the classic look.

Look 2

I let Morgan steal my signature heart shades for this look.  They are the perfect combination of a little bit quirky and a little bit glam, and at least in my experience, they seem to be a universally flattering shape.  Now, I’m not saying you should all go raid your little sister’s birthday piñata for those purple heart-shaped plastic glasses; I’m just trying to encourage you to incorporate some funky shades into your looks this spring.

Make a red dress more spring-appropriate by pairing it with light colored booties and fun accessories.
We were inspired by beautiful spring weather to create this lookbook featuring two dresses.  Both are perfect for this season (especially Easter) and could easily be layered under a jacket or sweater if it gets chilly.  Also, the burlap wedges give an effortless feel to both looks.
Hopefully you gained a little inspiration for your spring dress shopping.  A huge thank you to Morgan for helping me out and being a more-than-wonderful model for these pics.  Happy spring!
XoXo, Zo
