September Dressing

September 9, 2017Fashion

It happened.

I moved away to college mid-August (hence my absence from the online world. . .hello, again). I could do a sappy post about “what college has taught me about me,” but I thought I’d save us all the pain of reading that and focus on something a little more light-hearted: September dressing.

transitional fashion, summer to fall, style

Am I the only one whose struggles immensely at this time of year?! My heart says, “FALL, FALL, FALL!!” But we all know what the weatherman says. Growing up in the South, fall sneaks in and out for a few months, toying with my emotions. Alright, I’ll cut the dramatics now. But when you can’t rely on the weather to bring you your favorite season, well then it’s up to creative styling and grande Pumpkin Spice Chai Lattes to the the trick. (Side note – yes, Starbucks has Chai tea PSL this year. . . SO good).

Making it work

I’m big on layers, but that can be a little tricky during these early-September afternoons. This short-sleeved jacket by Harvey Faircloth is a great solution for  days when the temperature is all over the place. Lightweight jackets work wonders the transitional season because you can pair them with summer staples, like these H&M shorts, or jeans and statement boots during autumn (see my take on this look here!).
